Nice Polido teaches a gentle approach to the practice of yoga, primarily based upon the teachings of Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten. She got her start teaching about 25 years ago in the Hamptons, NY, when still as a student, she was asked by her teacher to substitute a class. That moment marked a transitional point, as teaching opened a new path of discovery on her yoga journey. It was not long before teaching yoga was her main occupation in the Hamptons. During those years she took a variety of yoga trainings and workshops including at Kripalu and with renowed yoga teachers such as John Schumacher, Barbara Benagh, John Friend, David Swenson among others, in order to deepen her practice and bring fresh perspectives to her students. In 1998 she attended her first workshop with Angela and Victor, which completely changed her viewpoint about yoga practice and teaching. Since then she has taken over 475 hours of training with them, and intends to keep on going, as long as they live. In 2006 she moved to Chapel Hill, NC where she taught at Carrboro Yoga Company and privately until, in the Summer of 2014 she moved to Delray Beach, Florida. She has been teaching in the area privately for groups and individuals as well as at Greenlands.
