Melanie Haraldson is a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, specializing in yoga for recovery. Melanie is a resilient advocate for those suffering from addiction. After losing her father to suicide, she began exploring the healing practice of yoga. During her early practice, she experienced an emotional breakthrough, which eventually led her to pursue what would become her life’s work. Upon completing her yoga teacher training, she went on to become a Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) trained teacher, and is now a Y12SR Leadership Trainer, teaching other yoga teachers and professionals in the field of addiction to lead Y12SR meetings in their local community. The trainings explore the science and symbiotic relationship between yoga and 12-step programs, as well as learning how to create and hold safe space for those impacted by addiction. She primarily teaches yoga in treatment centers throughout South Florida and leads community recovery classes.
Melanie also teaches prenatal yoga. Her greatest yogic experience has been through her own pregnancy and birth of her daughter. Melanie provides a safe and nurturing atmosphere in her classes. She will help you explore breathing techniques, asana, and mantras to help prepare you mentally, physically, and spiritually for a conscious awareness of birth and motherhood.
Melanie is also a Certified Women’s Health Coach, with a specialty in hormonal and reproductive health. Melanie’s purpose to inspire others to take charge of their own health, to better understand exactly what their bodies are communicating to them by way of signs and symptoms and to understand that wellness relies within themselves.
