Julie first discovered yoga in her home country, South Africa. During her career as a business exec in the high-tech industry in the US and Europe, she welcomed mindfulness and yoga as a blueprint for balanced living.
Many Oms later, Julie has several 200-hour and 500-hour certifications from the US and India and has been teaching yoga and meditation in the US since 2007, as well as leading international yoga retreats.
Yoga Nidra guided meditation is Julie’s calling. Seeing its positive effects is humbling and inspiring, and she loves how Yoga Nidra becomes a gateway for personal transformation. Julie is known for her soothing voice, and her meditation recordings are enjoyed by thousands on Spotify, Insight Timer, Apple Music, and more (@yogaressa).
Julie is equal parts teacher, student, speaker, writer, and accomplished concert pianist (the last one is not true, except for in her vivid imagination).
The yoga experience to last Julie a lifetime, was undoubtedly the unexpected blessing of meeting His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, in India (true).
